It was sad and horrible to say goodbye and a bit tearful too, but I was glad to do it at the house and not at the airport like we did last time, which was long and painful. Pat and Earl drove out part way to the airport with us though and waved us off with lots of friendly beeps.
Chillin' in the garden
We had another lazy day. Pat had a girl in first thing who helps her with washing her hair, and another appointment later with her doctor, and in between we visited and chilled in the garden and made toasted sandwiches for lunch.
Singing Happy Birthday To You
Today was Earl's birthday so we were nice to him all day! He got lots of cards and phone calls and before we went to the airport we got a KFC for him for his birthday dinner. Mum made little holes in the tubs of potato salad and macaroni salad and we stuck candles in and sang happy birthday to you.
The 'family feast' was the biggest quantity of KFC I have ever seen - a bucket of 20 chicken pieces, 2 large sides, extra large fries, gravy and 2L Pepsi. Nancy bought him some pieces of nice cheese which he likes too.

Last view of Calgary (look closely!)
Now we're at the airport waiting to board and have just had our last visit to Tim Horton's for Ice Caps and half a maple glazed doughnut each. We met a nice lady at the next table and told her the traumatic tale of our first visit to Tim Horton's (where the guy didn't understand a word I said and I didn't understand him either and Mum and Andy just collapsed laughing and then ran away). I am still scarred after all this time.
So. I am sad to leave everyone behind, and also unhappy to know I am going back to a large amount of work (writing so many schemes of work I didn't even scratch the surface when I started on them at the end of term). I'm looking forward to seeing Paul at the weekend though and hopefully Andy next week too when I go up to London to have a diving medical...as long as they give me the all clear that will be the next adventure!...
