The same headache has been hanging around for a while and was back today...but I was determined to drug myself and get on with it because I had a migraine last time we were in edmonton and ended up staying in while everyone else went out.

We had a nice breakfast and then popped out to the enjoy centre which paul would really have enjoyed (not) (it's a garden centre) and then brian came over and drove us all downtown to the edmonton fringe festival. We didn't go to any of the shows because we were eating at gary and donna's in the evening but we had a good look around the stalls and street performers. Mum had a cuddle with a boa constrictor, I bought a toe ring, we watched some acrobats and a painter and tried our first corn dogs (frankfurters dipped in corn batter then deep fried - good with mustard). It was super crowded and very hot but interesting to wander around.

In the evening we went round to donna and gary's. They were with muriel and gordon on their uk adventure last year so have stayed with mum too. We had steak for our dinner and very tasty rhubarb/berry etc crisp aka crumble for afters. Gary and donna have made a really nice photobook for muriel and gordon of their trip. We met two of their sons too, one of whom was packing ready to go back to uni at 6am tomorrow, driving 17 hours down to the states, aagh.
